About me

I am a PhD student in the Micromechanics group at the University of Groningen. Using computer simulations, I study the mechanical behavior of polymer networks. In many biological networks, such as those found in the cell cytoskeleton, cross-links between proteins are non-permanent, which gives those materials intriguing mechanical properties. I have developed a combined finite-element/Monte Carlo method to model transiently linked networks and investigate the origins of their visco-elasticity.
